    How you'll make an impact

    The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Risk & Control and Senior Manager, Risk and Control, and is an integral part of the First Line Risk and Compliance team. This team provides thought leadership advising on the management of related risks and controls; compliance and issue, incident and breach monitoring; the oversight of the internal customer resolution function; and for providing governance and reporting. It requires working closely with key stakeholders and senior business representatives and supporting them in their efforts to improve and enhance the operating control environment, embed new law and develop efficiencies by providing business focussed, timely, proactive and solutions orientated compliance advice and insight across a range of areas.

    Main Focus Areas:

    This role will focus on supporting the management of the end-to-end risk and control environment for the Super and Retirement Division. To achieve this outcome, you are responsible for building strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will be expected to provide risk support in relation to the identification, assessment, and management of risk and drive a strong risk culture that helps achieve business objectives.

    Overall Responsibility

    • Working with Senior Manager, Risk and Controls to implement, maintain and coordinate reviews of First Line Risk Management governance frameworks, ensuring that they are operating effectively within the wider AMP Group frameworks.
    • Support the Head of Risk and Compliance and Senior Manager, Risk and Controls in the oversight of the E2E control environment across other relevant business functions.

    Reporting and Governance

    • Work with Senior Manager, Risk and Controls in developing management information (MI) and track progress and managing insight driven reporting and governance function;
    • Support Senior Manager, Risk and Controls in Risk Profile and Risk reports for risk committees, EXCO and Boards (where required);
    • Support Senior Manager, Risk and Controls in the analysis and interpretation of key risk indicators results to identify systemic issues for escalation and investigation;
    • Support the Senior Manager, Risk and Controls in regularly reviewing the risk management and controls frameworks to ensure they continue to be effective for the management of risk;

    Control Assurance

    • Support ad-hoc reviews of areas of risk as well as the definition of control uplifts through the transformation;
    • Support the coordination of Controls Assurance related initiatives across people, processes and systems as requested by Heads Of Risk and Compliance;
    • Review and assess control test plans and methodologies for controls with consideration of the business operations, processes, and risks.
    • Support Senior Manager, Risk and Controls in the review of events for lessons learnt, including identification of systemic issues across different processes / business lines etc for reporting to Director, Advice.
    • Documentation and reporting of work through GRC and appropriate governance;
    • Ensuring implementation and continual improvement of processes to proactively manage to new SBR requirements;

    What you will bring to the team

    Ideally, you will bring the following experiences to this role:

    • Analyst, Controls Assurance is expected to have competencies for the role and experience (3-5 yrs) in financial services and/or assurance knowledge in order to effectively and efficiently design and execute controls testing plans
    • Financial Services experience in Audit practice or industry (desirable)
    • Relevant industry and other professional qualifications
    • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline (desirable)
    • Strong understanding and experience within financial services industry and current and proposed financial services regulatory and legislative requirements.
    • Experience working on projects to deliver key business outcome.
    • Proven customer service orientation.
    • Proven ability to manage change effectively
    • Previous experience in operating in a 3LOD environment would be highly desirable.
    • Data analytics skills and experience in the use of reporting software
    • Experience in business and management reporting
    • Track record of driving efficient and effective operational processes
    • Demonstrated engagement within a matrixed corporate organisation
    • Ability to operate in a business environment through change
