  • The Role

    This role will assist with developing and driving an external narrative that supports Insignia Financial's (IFL) strategy, purpose and principles ensuring it is compelling to IFL stakeholders as well as protecting and enhancing the reputation of the business. The Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs will proactively seek opportunities to raise the profile of IFL/MLC and senior leaders and executives in the media.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee engagement strategies to build advocacy and enhance IFL's reputation, to help drive positive positioning with media and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure a deliberate and coordinated external profile of IFL is managed across all channels and brands.
  • Aid the development and delivery of corporate messaging through relevant and varied channels.
  • Strong media relationships with financial services media and ability to engage across mainstream and trade press (across B2B and B2C).
  • Experience working closely with Marketing teams on consumer campaigns.
  • Maintaining and growing relationships with media including fielding media enquiries and liaising with stakeholders to develop responses.
  • Identifying and securing events and speaking opportunities for IFL spokespeople including developing briefing materials and speeches where appropriate.
  • Ensuring (where appropriate) IFL has a voice on key industry regulatory issues working together and aligned with Government Affairs, Policy and Advocacy.
  • Developing various communication materials such as media releases, media statements, key messages, Q&A.
  • Drafting external responses/key messages as it relates to any media queries, legal matters, or reputational issues.
  • Lead a small team that supports various divisions of the business to develop and implement integrated communication plans.
  • To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Extensive experience in Corporate Affairs and External Communications roles, (at least 8 years)
  • Relevant communications, marketing or business graduate/post graduate qualifications.
  • Successfully performed senior manager role within Corporate Affairs / Corporate Communications for a business with significant complexity and achieved high performance results.
  • Experience in working for an ASX-listed company.
  • Demonstrated financial services experience and well-developed verbal, written, and digital communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in media engagement, issues and crisis management, and reputation stewardship.
  • Experience in developing, articulating, and executing communication of business strategy to achieve intended outcomes including shareholder, customer, and employee value.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – ability to effectively and strategically influence key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advice, guidance, and recommendations to senior leaders on matters relating to external communications and stakeholder engagement
