    Description
    About the role:
    Destec has recently commenced mining operations at our newPoondanoIron Ore Project in the Pilbara, located approximately 20km north of Port Hedland, with the camp located approximately 6km from site.

    In this role you will become an integral part of a small team focusing on the preventative maintenance and fault finding of the Mobile Crusher and various mobile plant on site.

    The position is open to residential or FIFO (ex Perth) applicants, on a 2 weeks on 1 week roster, excellent remuneration salary on offer.

    The responsibilities for the role will include, but not limited to:
    Maintenance:
    • Conduct maintenance, and repair of mobile crushing and related equipment.
    • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functionality.
    Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Analyze equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
    Mobile Crushing Expertise:
    • Demonstrate proficiency in working with various mobile crushing equipment, including crushers, screens, and conveyors.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
    Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns promptly.
    Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other team members, including other trades and operators, to achieve project goals and deadlines.
    • Operate mobile plant and equipment where required
    • Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced team members.
    To be considered for this role you must have the below:

    Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter with a focus on mobile crushing equipment.
    • Familiarity with a variety of crushing machinery and associated components.
    Skills:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
    • Welding and fabrication skills are highly desirable.
    Qualifications:
    • Relevant trade qualification in mechanical fitting or a related field.
    • Current drivers licence
    • National police clearance, or ability to attain
    Communication:
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    Safety Consciousness:
    • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
    Preferred, although not essential:
    • Mobile plant operations exp, front end loader, excavator
    • Working at Heights Ticket
    • Confined Space Ticket
    • Elevated Work Platform competency
    • Rigging competency
    • Fleet maintenance experience
    • Heavy diesel fitting experience
