    About The RoleThe role will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance, with managing technical accounting matters.
    The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Preparing financial statements in accordance with Australian and International Accounting Standards, especially IFRS 17 or AASB 1023
    Quarterly preparation and submission of APRA Returns
    Staying abreast of regulatory developments and ensuring the business remains compliant with updated accounting standards and policies.
    Preparing and analysing budgets and forecasts.
    Providing financial analysis and commentary around accounting policies.
    Leading and supporting technical finance projects across the business.

    Partner with the Group's business divisions to provide technical accounting advice to support commercial outcomes in relation to strategic initiatives and transactions.

    Provide technical advice and thought leadership to Group Finance on topics relating to Group accounting matters and policies.

    About youKey skills and experience that we will be looking for in the successful candidate will include:
    CA/CPA qualified (or international equivalent) with 7+ years post qualification experience
    Proven experience within the General Insurance or Reinsurance industry
    Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 or AASB 1023 reporting standards
    Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying accounting standards.
    Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities across all levels
    Demonstrated ability to communicate with influence.
    Experience operating and delivering results in a matrix environment and leveraging relationships to influence and drive outcome.
