    Overview

    Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is undertaking a significant Technology Refresh program with a focus on ensuring fit for purpose technology across all business areas.

    As part of the Business Solutions and Technology (BS&T) Group, the Software Development Team is comprised of a mixture of Java and .NET developers. BS&T are responsible for all software related business analysis, business solutions, in-house software development, telephony, IT support services, infrastructure and cyber security. We deliver business as usual activities and innovation driven initiatives that provide efficiencies to the broader organisation.

    This main duties for this role include:

    • Design, write, test and maintain DHA software to meet the application needs of the end-users.
    • Analyse, review and develop code components of DHA software and provide advice to the Business Solutions and Technology team.
    • Prepare technical documentation that communicates system proposals and implementation details.
    • Work with stakeholders and end-users to determine and document requirements for applications.
    • Contribute to the maintenance, enhancement of existing software applications and delivery of new software applications.
    • Contribute to the ongoing architecture of enterprise business systems delivery in DHA.

    You will have highly developed software development skills across a range of technologies including; Java 1.8, JEE, Spring Framework (spring MVC, IoC, AOP, Security), Web Services (SOAP and REST) and Hibernate.

    Baseline security clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position.

    Essential Criteria

    1. Ability to develop technical documentation, interpret business requirements and translate these into technical specifications

    2. Strong communication and stakeholder liaison skills

    3.Well-developed technical skills in: Java 1.8 JEE Spring Framework (spring MVC, IoC, AOP, Security) Web Services (SOAP and REST) and Hibernate

    4.Demonstrated understanding of the Software Development cycle and proven experience in business process engineering

    Desirable Criteria

    1. Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, Jira and Jenkins

    2. Experience with Salesforce and Mulesoft
