- Working autonomously and performing all production and administration tasks required to enable the manufacturing plant to run at its optimum levels.
- Assisting with plant maintenance tasks whilst maintaining particular emphasis and focus around adhering to all Orica Safety, Health and Environment guidelines.
- Training will be provided in all key areas to assist with manufacturing.
- This is a varied role where the Operator will be responsible for carrying out physical and labour-intensive duties relating to production and maintenance as well as administrative and computing duties relating to inventory, data and product management.
- Operating Critical equipment including Pumps and Cartridge Machines.
- Potential to be trained in multiple plants to assist production.
- Previous experience as a fixed plant operator preferred but not essential, preferably within chemical manufacturing.
- Previous experience in the Manufacturing of Explosives highly advantages
- Previous manual laboring experience preferred
- Forklift license is preferred (will train right applicant)
- HR license is an advantage
- C class license is essential
- Ability to pass all relevant security checks ( National Police Clearance).
- Trade background would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Ability to demonstrate strong adherence to safe work practices
- Intermediate computer skills an advantage (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, SAP).
- Ability to work in a team environment

About the role
We are delighted to announce that we are looking for a Plant Operator to join our team in our Packaged and ANFO facility at the Kalgoorlie Explosives Reserve (KER). This role is reporting to Site Team Leader - Manufacturing Production.
The purpose of this plant is to manufacture Packaged Explosives used in the blasting procedure within the mining and quarrying sectors.
The position is Monday to Friday with occasional scheduled weekend work with 2 rotating shift structures being morning and afternoons. The successful candidate will be required to live in Kalgoorlie.
