    About the Company

    Our client is a well-established financial services firm, specialising in providing loans for commercial real estate ventures, with a particular focus on commercial and residential properties.

    With a team boasting extensive industry experience, they prioritise responsiveness, flexibility, and competitive conditions to effectively cater to both brokers and borrowers.

    The Head of Origination position assumes a pivotal role in overseeing market-facing origination endeavors for the company. Collaborating closely with the CEO, you will contribute to shaping and executing the origination strategy. Key responsibilities include driving new business initiatives and managing overall processes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop comprehensive origination strategy encompassing direct and broker channels, aggregator groups, and referral partners;
    • Set measurable targets for team and individual performance, focusing on new business volume, Net Interest Margin, and fee revenue;
    • Manage the entire deal lifecycle from initial opportunity identification through to indicative acceptance, ensuring smooth processes and timely outcomes;
    • Provide effective leadership and performance management for the Origination team, fostering a culture of collaboration, motivation, and high performance;
    • Work closely with CEO, Chief Legal Officer (CLO), underwriters, and finance/administration teams to facilitate profitable business growth and align with organisational goals; AND
    • Actively engage with credit committee meetings, investor gatherings, and other key business forums to contribute insights and support decision-making processes.

    Technical Skills & Qualifications

    • Tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce, or any relevant field;
    • 10 or more years' experience lending experience, ideally encompassing sales and sales leadership roles;
    • Proficient in financial analysis, credit assessment, and property lending;
    • Extensive experience in real estate credit and structured finance investments;
    • Skilled in guiding investment strategies and conducting portfolio analysis;
    • Sound knowledge of real estate market trends and competitor positioning;
    • Collaborative leadership approach with effective stakeholder management and relationship building skills;
    • Excellent negotiation skills to achieve win-win outcomes;
    • Strong quantitative abilities and proficiency in writing business plans; AND
    • Exceptional commercial acumen and decision-making skills.
