    North and West Remote Health (NWRH)now has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a driven and highly organisedResearch Officerto join their team full-time, fixed term contract for a6 months.

    This role can be based in either Townsville Cairns, Mackay or Brisbane.

    The Research Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and evaluation of a community-based research project focused on understanding and addressing the challenges faced by carers in the Far-North Queensland and Mackay Region.

    Reporting to the General Manager, the Research Officer will be responsible for various aspects of the project, including data collection, analysis, community engagement, and strategic planning.

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, public health, community development, or a related field.
    Proven experience in conducting community-based research, including data collection, analysis, and report writing.

    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
    Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    Knowledge of ethical guidelines and best practices in research ethics and data management.
    Experience working in remote or Indigenous communities and an understanding of cultural sensitivities and protocols is highly desirable.
    Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, NVivo) and Microsoft Office suite.

    Please note:


    Regular travel to will be required, as such you must be comfortable with travelling by road and on occasion, light aircraft, and possess a current unrestricted Australian Driver's License.


    The details:

    Duration:
    approx 6 months

    Salary:
    $90,000 to $110,000 (pro rata) commensurate with experience.

    Travel:
    all associated travelling involved in this role will be covered by NWRH.
