    The Role

    The Project Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager plays a critical leadership role to leading a small team to provide dedicated logistic support to an acquisition project in Future Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems Program Office (FISRSPO). You will lead an integrated team of Australian Public Servants, Australian Defence Force members and contractors to provide integration and consistency of logistic support to projects.

    Collaboration and engagement are core components of the role, with the ability to manage a range of stakeholder relationships both internal and external to FISRSPO. You will work collaboratively with the project managers, directors, and the SPO Chief Logistician to provide high quality logistic services to support the achievements of project outcomes. As part of the leadership team in the FISRSPO Logistic Management Unit, you will play a role in sharing knowledge and prioritising resources for the success of FISRSPO projects.

    Future Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems Program Office (FISRSPO) is the acquisition agency for leading edge ISR capability. 'Future Skies, Future Eyes' is the FISRSPO motto and it speaks to our need to ensure Australia's readiness for future challenges.
    FISRSPO is currently responsible for two major projects set to imminently deliver the next two unique platforms to the Royal Australian Air Force fleet.

    The materiel we acquire includes crewed and un-crewed aerial systems and ground control segments, training systems, and associated infrastructure and support systems. FISRSPO is also responsible for the integration of all elements of the Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC), to ensure seamless transition to service of the acquired capability, enabling achievement of Initial Operational Capability (IOC), and Final Operational Capability (FOC) on time and within budget.

  • Experience in leading a team in a dynamic environment;
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement at the strategic and operational level;
  • Capacity to develop, implement and maintain policy, processes and systems to support the quisition and sustainment of equipment in accordance with relevant requirements;
  • Ability to evaluate materiel activities, understand critical factors for success and initiate activities to ensure alignment with program or project objectives; and
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a clear and confident manner.
  • This position will be based in Canberra. A merit pool will be developed to fill any potential similar vacancies across Aerospace Surveillance Response Branch.
