- Contributing to the formulation of strategic policies to cater to the needs of Hornsby Shire's Aboriginal Community.
- Providing support and advocating on community-related matters.
- Engaging with stakeholders to create and execute significant and responsive community development initiatives.
- Conducting research and drafting grant proposals to secure funding for projects and community events relevant to the Aboriginal community.
- Facilitating interactions between the Council and Aboriginal stakeholders on heritage and environmental concerns.
- Assisting the Hornsby Shire Council's Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Consultative Committee.
- Supporting the organization and coordination of Aboriginal Community activities and events.

Salary: $87,559 to $97,986 per year (based on 70 hours per fortnight) in addition to superannuation and a nine-day fortnight schedule.
The specific salary within this range will be determined based on the individual's expertise, qualifications, and experience.
About the Organization
Situated on Sydney's upper north shore approximately 25 kilometers north of the CBD, Hornsby Shire is renowned as the 'Bushland Shire.' It is characterized by bushland that includes national parks, major waterways, natural reserves, and rural landscapes. The Shire blends urban, rural, and open spaces harmoniously.
For a considerable period, the Council has maintained an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Consultative Committee consisting of representatives from the Traditional Owners, the Dharug and GuriNgai Peoples, and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander individuals who either reside, work, study, or have strong ties to the Hornsby LGA.
About the Position
The key objective of this role is to establish and nurture effective and robust communication channels between Hornsby Shire Council, the local Aboriginal community, and the local community services sector.
