    South32's corporate office is located in the heart of Perth's CBD. It houses key functions, including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk, and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

  • ABOUT THE ROLE

    This is a permanent full-time position, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will be based at our head office in Perth.

    The Analyst Marketing Finance is responsible for conducting and supporting the period-end close process, including preparing statutory accounts, providing accounting advice for Marketing, and providing input into the Group's budgeting and forecasting cycle. They also ensure high-quality analysis and accurate reporting of the Group's financial results.

    Reporting to Manager Marketing Finance, other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

  • Coordinate and perform the period-end close process
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of Revenue accounting
  • Prepare reconciliations of relevant general ledger accounts to ensure transactions are recorded accurately
  • Ongoing review of general ledgers to ensure transactions are recorded accurately
  • Interact and provide data to internal and external auditors as necessary
  • Provides support to management in the preparation of revenue & operating budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and South32 control framework
  • Consolidating and preparing briefing papers and other internal/external management reporting requirements for half-year and year end reporting requirements (Quarterly Production Report, Results Announcement, Operations Finance Review, etc.)
  • ABOUT YOU

    You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Experience in accounting/risk/finance/audit or related field is desirable
  • Proficient in the use of SAP, BI and Cognos (preferable)
  • Sound understanding of finance processes and deliverables in a corporate/commercial environment
  • Analytical and accurate, with an inquisitive mindset to critically evaluate information and numbers
  • Positive, flexible, and dynamic approach
  • Qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
  • CA / CPA or equivalent qualification
