    Biotech Engineering is a provider of specialist engineering design and project management services to the Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Food industries.     THE ROLE

    The successful candidate will work closely with other disciplines to take projects through the complete life cycle – design, procurement, construction management, commissioning/ qualification and handover.

    Reporting to the Senior Process Engineering Project Manager the successful candidate's responsibilities will include:

    • Preparation of engineering design documentation:
      • Pressure / flow models;
      • Equipment sizing models;
      • Plant Layouts, System PFD's and P&ID's;
      • Equipment / valve / instrument data sheets and specifications;
      • Plant functional specifications.
    • Preparation of procurement packages including responding to vendor inquiries
    • and assessment of tender submissions.
    • Inspection of plant and equipment to ensure compliance to regulatory, safety and design requirements.
    • Supervision of construction activities on site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and safe work practices.
    • Commissioning and qualification activities in accordance with Good Engineering
    • Practice (GEP), including preparation and execution of installation and operational (testing) qualification protocols.
    • Preparation of as-built documentation and training of client personnel.

    THE CANDIDATE

    A self-starting and motivated Process Engineer with a minimum of 2-5 years project experience in the Pharmaceutical / Biotech Industry capable of delivering projects both autonomously and as part of a larger team.

    The ideal candidate shall possess the following skills.

    • Bachelor Degree in the relevant field.
    • Process and process services design experience.
    • Experience in project work (full project lifecycle).
    • Pharmaceutical project experience (preferable but not mandatory).
    • Excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to deliver high quality work within tight time constraints.
    • Self motivation and ability to work independently.
    • Strong interpersonal and consultation skills capable of dealing with a range of clients and colleagues.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to coordinate and participate in teams.
