    Our Opportunity

    Work Location: Perth. Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

    Roster: Monday to Friday

    This is initially a 12 month fixed term maternity leave contract.

    As a Senior Management Accountant within the Metals Support Commercial team, you will play a crucial role in driving financial decision-making processes, monitoring performance and ensuring the effective utilisation of resources in a fast paced and dynamic working environment. You will work closely with the senior management team to provide financial insights and support as a finance business partner, contributing to the overall financial success of our organisation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Co-ordination and delivery for accurate and transparent end of month financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor key financial performance indicators, identify business improvement opportunities, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
    • Provide comprehensive analysis and driver-based costs analysis to support business decisions
    • Managing Exploration capital project pipeline and governance procedures
    • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies
    • Streamline, automation and improvement of core finance processes and activities
    • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Fortescue accounting policies

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • CA/CPA/CIMA qualification
    • 5+ years management or financial accounting experience in mining or similar industry
    • Ability to interpret and identify key cost drivers to deliver insight and opportunity across all levels within the business
    • Proficiency in accounting ERP system, Microsoft, and data analysis tools (SAP and Anaplan experience beneficial)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
