To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.

La Trobe University's School of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Associate Lecturer in Crime, Justice, and Legal Studies to join our trailblazing Department of Social Inquiry. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about teaching and making a significant impact in the fields of socio-legal studies, critical criminology, and beyond.
About the position
Innovate in Education: Develop and deliver cutting-edge curriculum across the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Criminology, focusing on critical criminology, socio-legal studies, law and social justice, and socio-cultural perspectives on law and crime.
Engage Students: Facilitate engaging tutorials, workshops, and experiential learning opportunities that inspire students and enhance their understanding of social justice.
Contribute to Excellence: Play an active role in the continuous improvement of teaching practices, including the adoption of online learning technologies and on-campus teaching innovations.
The candidate
Academic Excellence: Completion or near-completion of a PhD in socio-legal studies, critical criminology, or a cognate field, showcasing an interdisciplinary approach.
Teaching Passion: Demonstrated ability in teaching and curriculum development, with a track record of excellent student feedback and engagement with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
Commitment to Justice: A passion for social justice, demonstrated through teaching and learning practices that foreground critical and interdisciplinary approaches to law and crime.
