    About The Role
    Due to an internal promotion we are seeking a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to provide coaching, instruction, advice, and key support services to Ventia staff and their subcontractors across multiple contracts in our Telecommunications sector.

    The role is located in Cremorne, Victoria and we are offering hybrid working option with a work vehicle provided.

    What you'll be doing:

  • Champion the Ventia SHEQ culture throughout the Melbourne region as a key business stakeholder.
  • Complete audits, inspections, observations as required with internal and external teams.
  • Assist Operations Managers, Project Management teams and Frontline Leaders in the ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement of Ventia Telecommunications projects.
  • Ensure incidents and events are managed, reported and entered into VenSafe in the appropriate timeframes and facilitate the effective close out of incidents/events and associated actions.
  • Develop and implement targeted SHEQ prevention programs with projects to mitigate emerging incident trends.
  • Engaging with relevant client and regulator representatives.
  • Facilitate and participate in the review and modification of Project Risk Assessments/Registers and SWMS.
  • Assist projects to implement and maintain health surveillance activities as required.
  • Assist Operations Managers, Project Management teams and Frontline Leaders with preparations for Project, Toolbox, Client and other meetings where SHEQ information may be required.
  • Provide SHEQ reports to Operations Managers, Project Management teams and Frontline Leaders for meetings.
  • Analyse SHEQ data, identify incident trends and develop tailored programs with projects to reduce trends.
  • About You

  • A 'people first' mentality
  • Have a Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS/OHS
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • ICAM / Taproot or equivalent
  • Experience in the Telecommunication or construction industry highly regarded.
  • Sound understanding of the legal, regulatory and standards framework that govern work operations.
  • Experience in coordinating the SHEQ functional support in a complex, geographically disperse field operation.
  • Excellent analysis and report writing skills
