    JOB DESCRIPTION

    About the Role

    We are seeking a Law Graduate to complete an informal two-year graduate program (full-time) in our Industrial and Employee Relations (I/ER) Team. The graduate program will include an extensive on-the-job training and support. You will have the opportunity to continually enhance and further develop your skills, capabilities and performance.

    The primary purpose of this role is to assist the I&ER Team in the delivery of strategic, commercial, and operational I&ER advice and guidance to the business. As a member of the broader People team, you will assist matters of compliance and interpretation across the suite of industrial relations regulatory platforms.

    The role will be based in Sydney.

    What you'll do

    • Complete modules as directed throughout program that align to core capabilities and achieve foundation level of I&ER understanding.
    • Conduct legal and industrial research
    • Analyse wage rates and conduct wage compliance audits against industrial instruments.
    • Drafting of parameters documentation to assist bargaining.
    • Attend and observe enterprise agreement negotiations.
    • Attend and observe matters before the Fair Work Commission as well as State Tribunals.
    • Support workplace investigations and general case management.
    • Perform administrative tasks, including reporting, under supervision from other I&ER Team members.

    What you'll bring

    • Tertiary qualification in law.
    • An interest in Australian employment law and labour relations issues.
    • A significant track record of analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify root cause, assess options and develop tactical solutions.
    • The ability to research, interpret and apply legislation, policies, and guidance material, particularly whilst encountering frequent ambiguity.
