    Description

    Experience and Qualification Requirements

    • Australian Citizens and Permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
    • Minimum AQF level – Certificate III in carpentry.
    • Minimum two years of experience as a carpenter.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Commitment to work full time (at least 38 hours per week).
    • Excellent time management skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Repair and replace the damaged or worn part of the structure or fixtures including doors, windows, and other furniture to restore the functionality and appearance.
    • Perform finishing tasks such as sanding, staining, and varnishing to enhance the appearance and durability of completed projects.
    • Take precise measurement and cut material to specified dimensional using tools such as saws, chisels, and planes.
    • Construct and install structures, fixtures and frameworks made of wood and other material according to blueprints, specifications and building codes.
    • Assemble and join wood material using nails, screws, adhesives and ensure secure construction.
    • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to plan and execute carpentry tasks accurately and efficiently.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent any accidents or injuries.
    • Ordering and selecting the timber and other material to prepare the layout and structure.
    • Collaboration with other construction professionals, contractors, and fellow tradespersons to finish the project and ensure quality workmanship.
    • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences, provide recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project.
    • Maintain and repair carpentry tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working conditions and ready to use when needed.
