    About the AppointmentAn exciting appointment to work with a highly regarded executive risk professional who was brought into the organisation to uplift the governance and risk function.

    With the autonomy to work across the complex Group, the Associate Director will play a strategic and operational role in redefining the risk team and embedding a modern risk function with the aim to increase risk maturity across the organisation and build a partnering brand.

    Provide leadership and direction of the risk management function including the development, implementation and management of the relevant frameworks for risk, compliance and resilience.

    Support in determining the Group's risk appetite and tolerance levels.

    Provide oversight, expert advice and assistance in relation to assessment and management of risks as well as business resilience to enable effective responses to crisis, and critical incidents.

    Support management to assess, control and mitigate risks to their objectives and strategies.
    Develop and implement appropriate training programs to enhance risk capabilities and culture.

    Provide reliable and insightful reports to the senior executives and the Audit and Risk Committee; highlighting risk profile, key risks, emerging risks and the plan to deal with those risks and changes in the risk profile over time.

    When relevant, attend and provide guidance on risk to management and the various committees.
    As part of a three line defence model, work collaboratively with Internal Audit and other Line 2 functions.
    Manage, supervise, develop and mentor the risk team.
    About You

    As this is a senior appointment, you will have three to five years' experience in a similar level role within a complex organisation.

    As you will be leading change, your leadership style is critical to the team's success.
    Your leadership style should feature being engaging, influential, empowering and transparent.

    The ideal candidate will have proven history in leading or, at least, playing a pivotal role in a risk transformation program.

    Have the ability to balance operational and strategic responsibilities, particularly as you look to set a high standard of delivery in for your team.

    Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary risk management, business resilience and compliance frameworks and practices.

    And finally, you'll possess the natural ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and build partnerships in order to facilitate change.

    Through strong relationships, you'll be able to influence and resolve substantial and sensitive issues with senior management
