    Description

    We are looking for an experienced, hardworking and safety conscious individual to fill the position of Maintenance Worker - Concreting

    • Remuneration package of $2,088.00 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,505.60 gross per fortnight + superannuation (11%).
    • Access to Council's nine (9) day fortnight arrangement.

    Your new role:

    This position is responsible for effectively working as part of the Traffic and Transport team to undertake maintenance and construction works.

    Duties of this position will include but are not limited to:

    • Undertake concrete installation works, concrete repairs and maintenance works such as kerb and gutter replacement and maintenance, driveways and footpath construction, culvert/pits/drainage construction etc. within the Wagga Wagga LGA.
    • Undertake general labouring duties such as traffic management; pipe laying; soil and sediment control; plant operation; paving; tar patching, hot mix and sealing works; stormwater system maintenance; bridge maintenance; erection and maintenance of guide posts, sign posts and guard rails; fencing; roadside maintenance works; rehabilitation works; general maintenance activities; and site safety.
    • Maintain a strong focus on safety, following proper protocols and utilising appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

    What you will need to succeed:

    • Previous relevant experience including concrete measurement and calculation, formwork, steel fixing and finish of concrete by hand for concrete installation, concrete repairs and maintenance works.
    • A General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
    • A Class MR Driver's Licence.
    • SafeWork NSW Traffic Controller Training Card and SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic. Control Plans Training Card.
    • Applicants must enjoy working outdoors and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
