    An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Associate to join our Corporate Finance team - focusing on the Government & Education sector within Corporate & Institutional Banking, though will have exposure to the Banks and Non-Banks & Technology sectors. You'll be part of a team that provides credit analysis, deal execution and portfolio risk management functions on transactions across the Government & Education sector.

    Corporate Finance: Client Management & Execution (CME)

    Corporate Finance is responsible for all financing activity in Corporate & Institutional Bank (C&IB). We manage the balance sheet for C&IB, while providing financing solutions for our customers across diversified sectors. Our Client Management & Execution (CME) Team partner Client Coverage and Product Specialist teams with the aim of driving business growth and efficiently delivering an excellent experience for clients.

    About Government and Education:

    G&E is a national business which connects to NAB's social purpose and helps address society's biggest challenges including social housing, infrastructure, and education. The client mix is diverse and includes government bodies, government owned enterprises, the tertiary education providers, and community housing providers.

    We have touchpoints across all business units and central functions as well as significant product diversity.

    The FGT CME team provides team members exposure to clients in the other segments of FGT portfolio, with primary responsibility for this position to the G&E portfolio, but an opportunity to work on the Banks/NBFIs and Technology portfolios provides greater scope for exposure, as well as learning/training experiences.

    Key responsibilities will include:
    • Preparing credit submissions, conducting financial analysis, making recommendations, and liaising with credit on transactions.
    • In concert with senior team members, support transaction execution through the analysis and interpretation of financial statements/modelling, due diligence, and legal documentation
    • Workflow management between the Relationship Management Team, CME, CME Enablement, and other Origination Partners to achieve seamless client experience.
    • Responsible for managing the ongoing monitoring of the risk profile and compliance requirements of a client portfolio, ensuring portfolio hygiene is a good standard.
    • Be an additional point of contact for clients within the portfolio.
    • Conduct research and analysis to develop industry/sector expertise and knowledge.
    • Attend internal and external stakeholder meetings where appropriate to support business outcomes while managing portfolio risks.
    • Train, coach and develop skills of new starters and existing team members.
    What you will bring:
    • Solid credit analysis skills, prior experience in transaction structuring, and knowledge of financial markets products.
    • Able to synthesise information from multiple sources, build financial models, identify, and synthesise key themes and communicate and influence effectively.
    • Enjoys working collaboratively and building positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
    • Uncompromising drive, passion, focus, and energy to help innovate and drive change.
    • A proactive self-starter, a passion for detail and work accuracy together with the capability to effectively manage conflicting priorities.
    • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics or Law (or related discipline).
