    Description

    Desirable:

    • A three (3) or four (4) year degree specialising in either Infrastructure, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology is highly desirable.
    • The following certifications are also highly desirable:
      • VMWare VCAPS;
      • Red Hat;
      • SANS SEC 401;
      • SANS SEC 488;
      • SANS SEC 504; and
      • CompTia Sec+

    Essential:

    • At least 10 years of experience with configuring Converged and/or Hyper Converged Infrastructure required.
    • Strong understanding of VMWare, Openshift; and Citrix is required
    • Sound understanding of BMCs (Bare Metal Controller) like iDRAC, iLOM, and other vendor supported BMCs is required.

    Desirable:

    • Strong understanding of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) trap management.
    • Strong understanding of containerisation (Tanzu Kubernetes with ISTIO service mesh)
    • Strong understanding of DevSecOps methodology
    • Work collaboratively with the Defence team to produce High Level and Detailed Design documents with a focus on Systems Engineering design and traceability concepts. This person will be asked to produce DODAF 2.0 style OV (Operational View) and SV (System View) diagrams in both the High Level and Detail Design spaces.
    • Work with the defence Stream Lead and produce Trade Studies when needed to provide the best guidance.
    • Plan and Schedule Infrastructure rollouts in geographically distributed data centres
    • Work with the Defence Stream lead to implement infrastructure, virtualised applications, and VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) as directed.
    • Plan and Deploy Virtualised applications for a live environment.
    • Integrate new applications utilising infrastructure as code tools.
    • Provide advice and guidance in aspects of infrastructure deployment.
