Financial Reporting - Team Lead role in a market leading investment business.

Responsible for periodic financial, regulatory and tax reporting to a diverse range of investment managers and superannuation fund clients and act as escalation point for any client queries.

The Role

As a Financial Reporting - Team Leader, you will join a well known investment organization with a global presence, reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting & Tax.

The finance team is growing, it will be exciting for you to establish a level of client knowledge, to ensure all requirements are met whilst managing new client onboarding process.

Day to Day
Reviewing Financial statements and templates
Identify and improve current core processes and procedures
Train and mentor junior members of the team
Work with other teams to achieve client reporting objectives – Unit Pricing, Business Process Analysts, Client Services, Operations and Technology
Work with Financial Reporting and Tax manager on new product developments
Help manage new client on-boarding process relating to Financial reporting and Tax
Ensure sufficient risk management controls are in place and adhered to compliance standards
Organise and attend year end planning meetings with clients

What we're looking for:
An understanding of different trust structures and entity types
Demonstrated understanding of the application of regulatory reporting requirements – APRA, ABS, BAS, PAYG
Experience working within a Custodian, Superannuation fund, or Investment Manager accounting/tax team
Technical understanding and application of accounting and tax concepts relating to Managed Investment Schemes (MIS's) and Superannuation funds
Demonstrated understanding of the application of Australian Accounting Standards as they relate to MIS's and Superannuation funds
High level understanding of the application of Australian Tax rules as they relate to MIS's and Superannuation funds
Understanding of unit pricing and unit registry concepts
Client service and relationship management experience
Accounting/Commerce/Finance degree qualified ideally with a CA or CPA
