    About the role

    Troocoo is looking for a People Leader to join an Enterprise Data Analytics team, as a Principal Engineer. You will lead and support a team of Data and Software Engineers to continue to provide top tier solutions for a market leading, globally renowned business.

    This role is a newly created position for a leader with expertise in Agile methodologies and Data Engineering to collaborate with various technologies and architectural strategies, enhancing our clients technology delivery capabilities and resolving technical debt. The Principal Engineer will play a crucial role in technical leadership, guiding the team to develop new features with a focus on continuous support and maintenance.

    You will be passionate about people leadership and development, and be able to foster a collaborative environment, with the ability to manage key business stakeholders and remove roadblocks for the team to continue to be successful.

    What the Principal Engineer will need to be successful:
    A technical background in Data Engineering, spanning various technologies.
    Key skill areas include:

    • Data warehouse modeling and transformation
    • Experience in Python development, ideally integrated with AWS services.
    • Desirable familiarity with NoSQL and streaming technologies.

    Additionally, preferred qualifications include knowledge of the AWS Cloud environment, encompassing services such as:

    • Infrastructure (Cloud Formation, VPC, IAM).
    • Compute (Lambda, EC2, ECS, EKS, Fargate).
    • Storage (S3).
    • Data (DynamoDB, RDS).
    • Virtualisation/Containerisation.
    • Integrations

    Key responsibilities:

    • Lead technical development, including deployment automation and quality assurance practices.
    • Manage daily operations of supported applications, ensuring adherence to standards.
    • Ensure technical and security compliance, reducing technical debt.
    • Support platform roadmap development and execution.
    • Monitor and optimise platform performance and incident response.
    • Supervise and mentor engineers, driving performance.
    • Collaborate to enhance overall digital technology quality and value.

    Must be Brisbane Based.
