The role

Consumer Protection is responsible for promoting fair trading and consumer protection in Western Australia. Within our Conciliation and Trader Intervention Branch, the Senior Conciliation Officer resolves complex disputes arising between various parties under relevant consumer protection laws.

You will be joining a large, supportive, knowledgeable and experienced team who will help set you up for success in this role.

From analysing issues and assisting parties to resolve a dispute, identifying breaches of relevant legislation, undertaking trader intervention activities to correct improper business practices, providing advice and guidance to team membersand providing quality customer service, there are plenty of activities you will be involved in.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancies, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

This position is located in Perth, at 140 William Street.
