- Contributing clinically to the management and delivery of comprehensive kidney transplant services, including outreach services, education, and training support.
- Assisting in the management and provision of Nephrology services at the University Hospital.
- Offering professional leadership to medical staff and actively participating in multidisciplinary patient care.
- Supporting the Clinical Directors of Kidney Transplant and Nephrology in providing quality leadership based on best practices and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Specialist Qualifications You must hold specialist registration or be eligible with AHPRA. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent is required for Nephrology specialization.
- This position entails dayshift and after-hours on-call duties, possibly requiring extended hours to meet clinical demands.
- Travel: Occasional work at other facilities within the THHS may be necessary.
- Salary range of $204,206 to $258,910 annually (L18-L27)
- 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance (35%-50% base salary)
- Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
- Motor vehicle allowance ranging from $21,000 to $25,500 annually
- Professional development allowance of $21,500 annually
- Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme of $20,000

The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Nephrology Staff Specialist for a permanent position in Northern Queensland with multiple openings starting in January 2025.
The North Queensland Kidney Transplant Service (NQKTS) is dedicated to providing cutting-edge kidney transplantation services to patients across a large catchment area in North Queensland. This includes regions such as the Northwest, Cairns, Torres Strait Island, Mackay, and Townsville.
As a Staff Specialist in this innovative service, your responsibilities will involve:
