    Our team at St John of God Bendigo Hospital is seeking an individual to join our housekeeping team as a Casual Housekeeper.

    This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment where you can make a real difference in people's lives.

    About the Role

    • Perform housekeeping duties throughout the hospital, including ward cleaning, bed making and disposal of waste items.
    • Assist nursing staff with transfers of patient belongings to different areas of the hospital when requested.
    • Directed assistance with lifting and patient transportation.
    • Acts as a courier when requested.
    • Assists with safe and tidy storage of supplies within the unit.
    • Cost effective use of stock supplies and equipment.
    • Escorts patients to discharge office when requested.
    • Reports any maintenance / supply needs as necessary.

    You will have an understanding of occupational safety and health practices, infection control and housekeeping protocols, whilst maintaining a high level of cleaning skills.

    To succeed you will need basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage, cleaning equipment and OH&S requirements.

    You will demonstrate communication skills, relate well with other people and demonstrate initiative, motivation & confidence.

    About Us

    • We offer a salary of $32.37 to $33.39 per hour (casual loading included) + 11.5% superannuation.
    • Salary packaging up to $18,550 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses.
    • Options to salary package benefits above the FBT cap on items such as: Novated leasing Work related expenses Self-education and additional superannuation.
