Espona Creative Studio is seeking a skilled and dependable System Administrator to manage and support our IT infrastructure in Hobart, Tasmania. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who thrives in a creative yet structured environment and enjoys maintaining secure, efficient, and scalable systems.
As System Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our internal systems while supporting a collaborative team of creative and operational professionals.
About the Role
The System Administrator will oversee network infrastructure, server environments, cloud services, and cybersecurity protocols. You will play a key role in maintaining uptime, supporting business continuity, and implementing improvements to strengthen operational resilience.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day IT operations and long-term infrastructure planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain servers, networks, and cloud-based systems
- Administer user accounts, access permissions, and security controls
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and backup processes
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies and endpoint protection
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Oversee system updates, patches, and infrastructure upgrades
- Maintain documentation of IT systems, procedures, and configurations
- Support data protection, backup, and disaster recovery planning
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers when required
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in system administration or infrastructure management
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux environments
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, or other cloud platforms
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, DNS)
- Experience with backup solutions and cybersecurity best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
