    Government - State (Government & Defence) The role:

    Our Traffic Data Systems team manages data systems and platforms that support the traffic data lifecycle of collection, processing, storage, access, and reporting.

    The team provides advice to stakeholders and customers and works with service providers and suppliers to maximise the value of TMRs traffic data assets.


    Some of your responsibilities are to:

    • Lead the development, maintenance and improvement of departmental traffic data systems, including secure systems for data capture, loading, storage, processing, analysis and reporting, that support emerging data sources, data pipeline automation, modern data analytics and data visualisation.
    • Provide high level expert advice and support to TMR and external stakeholders on relevant data collection programs, correct understanding, analysis, and use of traffic data, including emerging technologies.
    • Produce and maintain guidelines, training and technical documentation relating to traffic data.
    • Lead, participate in, and support projects and project teams to deliver state network operations data initiatives.
    • Work with the Manager (Traffic Data Systems) and Director (Operational Systems) to define and implement the strategic direction for traffic data across the department.

    About you:
    To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

    • High level experience and expertise in modern data management, data engineering and data analytics technology and platforms, including cloud-based data platforms.
    • High level experience and expertise in project management and leadership using project management frameworks such as Agile and Prince2, with a proven track record of delivering expected outputs to high performance standards.
    • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions to a variety of audiences.
    • Commitment to sound governance, risk management and high standards of delivery and service.
    • Insight into personal strengths and areas for development and takes personal accountability for learning, and eagerly pursues new knowledge and experiences.
