    Work Location: Perth - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

    Roster: Monday to Friday

    Lead the Approvals Planning - Operations and Studies team, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of business guidance on approvals and agreements. This role involves overseeing a team, establishing effective communication channels, ensuring accuracy in materials, managing risks, analysing data, and providing regular reporting to stakeholders. The Manager will also maintain project information and contribute to long-term planning while continuously improving processes. Strong leadership skills are essential for guiding the team in implementing new processes effectively.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage a dedicated team collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to identify and define future business activities requiring external approvals or agreements.
    • Establish and foster effective communication pathways between Functional Teams and Project representatives to facilitate smooth approvals processes.
    • Ensure materials presented at approvals planning meetings and forums are accurate, clear, and aid effective communication.
    • Effectively communicate identified approvals schedule risks and their mitigations, monitoring the approval risk profile and escalating as required.
    • Analyse approvals data and provide monthly reports to the business on Approvals Status, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
    • Ensure project information is up-to-date and accurate within the Integrated Approvals Schedule, contributing to overall project planning and execution.
    • Utilise existing methodology while continuously improving processes and outputs, providing quarterly approvals assumptions to support long-term mine planning horizons.
    • Manage team members to support the delivery of key tasks, providing mentorship and coaching aligned with Fortescue Values.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Substantial experience (10 years +) in Mining, Approvals, Project Management, or related roles.
    • Strong understanding of the mining sector or complex resource projects, including planning and execution.
    • Exceptional ability to engage with high-level stakeholders and experienced subject matter experts.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
    • Proven project management skills, with a track record of delivering results within deadlines.
    • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and manage competing demands and priorities effectively.
    • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
    • Strong leadership abilities to guide a diverse team in implementing new processes across multiple disciplines and customer groups.
