- Deliver evidence-based services focusing on safety, risk, and vulnerability assessment.
- Maintain high standards of support aligned with FCS program guidelines and Uniting policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop flexible outreach services.
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments for families and align with FCS service response types.
- Utilise varied engagement approaches such as home visits, cold calling, and community meetings.
- Ensure compliance with program specifications and legal requirements regarding child safety.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and program development initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, Youth Work, or related field.
- Experience in conducting needs assessments and risk planning for vulnerable populations.
- Understanding of child protection issues and legislative requirements.
- Ability to work with diverse communities including Aboriginal and CALD families.
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- NSW Working with Children Check and valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of local service systems and mental health support is advantageous.

About the role
This is a full-time closed period contract until April 2025 – 70 hours per fortnight in Oran Park NSW.
About the opportunity
As an Outreach Specialist for the Family Connect and Support (FCS) program in the SWS area, you will play a crucial role in delivering holistic support to children, young people, and families facing vulnerabilities. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders and service providers to ensure accessible and flexible services that align with the FCS program guidelines and Uniting's policies. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing outreach strategies, building partnerships, and providing timely support to meet the needs of those we serve.
