    Position Title: Smoking and Vaping Cessation Trainer
    Employment Type: Maximum Term Part Time (until June 2026)
    Hours per week: 24 hours
    Position Grade: Health Education officer (Graduate/Non-Graduate)

    Salary- $69,050- $110,326 , $60,373- $87,304 Pro rata base per annum

    About the role:
    We have an exciting opportunity to work in our state-wide Smoking Cessation Program as a trainer and educator.

    The Smoking and Vaping Cessation Trainer will support the delivery of the Smoking and Vaping Cessation Training Strategic Plan , which aims to build capacity to improve the ability of clinical staff in NSW health settings and in Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council member services in delivering evidence-based tobacco smoking and nicotine vaping cessation advice. The Trainer will support the Program Co-Ordinator in the ongoing development of training material and then will implement smoking and vaping cessation training within Local Health Districts (LHDs).

    Working with partner LHDs, the Trainer will provide support to LHD 'Community of Practice' by providing training, education and support to targeted clinicians and services.

    The Trainer will also provide a range of other training activities to services working with priority populations across NSW, including state-wide webinar-based training.

    As the position requires working across NSW, the program is able to support flexible work from home arrangements.

    About you:

    We are seeking a skilled and energetic Smoking and Vaping Cessation Trainer who possess a passion for person centred care.

    Selection Criteria:
    1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.

    2. Demonstrated skills in implementing, facilitating and evaluating training and an ability to adapt to various training environments.

    3. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health and/or experience working in the drug and alcohol field.

    4. Demonstrated advanced computer literacy in MS office, with an emphasis on PowerPoint.

    5. Demonstrated ability to work independently, determine priorities and manage competing priorities effectively.

    6. Hold a current NSW Driver's License and have a willingness to travel to throughout New South Wales Local Health districts, including overnight stays.

    7. Demonstrated knowledge in tobacco smoking, nicotine vaping and the cessation of tobacco smoking and nicotine vaping.

    8. Proven effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) with a wide range of stakeholders.
