    About the Opportunity

    We are seeking advanced trainees to join our Renal Department in Alice Springs. This unique opportunity allows for the development of skills and expertise in Nephrology.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for Advanced Training in Nephrology or dual Advanced Training in Nephrology and General Medicine.
    • Applicants to other Specialty Training Programmes in Australia.
    • Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

    Program Overview

    The Renal Unit caters to patients with kidney disease in a large area covering communities across the Northern Territory. The unit provides innovative methods of service delivery, including care for dialysis and kidney transplant patients. It has a well-developed renal registry that aids early management and staff attuned to manage kidney disease.

    The unit offers hospital care with in-centre haemodialysis, satellite haemodialysis, and remote dialysis. It has a busy interventional nephrology programme incorporating catheter access for dialysis, endovascular fistula procedures, and kidney biopsies. A fast-growing transplant program offering evaluation and follow-up for kidney transplantation aims at improving health equity for First Nations people.
