    The Organisation:

    Having been established for over 10 years, our client has built a reputation as one of Australia's leading diversified engineering services businesses. With a national presence, they are delivering innovative engineering consulting services in the civil, structural and environmental spaces.

    Having recently enjoyed a period of strategic growth, the organisation is poised for the next exciting phase of expansion. With an established geographic and sector growth strategy, our client is looking for a Structures Lead to drive the structural engineering team.

    The Role:

    Reporting to the General Manager, this is an incredibly exciting opportunity for an established leader to manage the overall performance as well as developing the strategy and vision and implementing initiatives to maximise performance to grow and diversify the business.

    The Structures Lead role will be responsible for collaborating with the wider business and have a focus on producing sustainable profit as well as maintaining and developing new and existing client relationships.

    Some of the key responsibilities include:

    Operational

    • Prepare, implement and monitor an annual business plan;
    • Manage complex projects through provision of advice and tactical input;
    • Monitor progress of work to ensure compliance with programs and budgets; and
    • Provide guidance on risk management, contract and design fees, fees, rates and cost estimates.

    Client Management

    • Manage key client relationships;
    • Manage the delivery of project outcomes within client specifications; and
    • Ensure contracts, fees and scopes of work are documented.

    People Leadership

    • Manage and lead team dynamics so that teams are working effectively;
    • Prepare and implement team development and engagement plans; and
    • Lead and guide all staff members, ensuring clear communication of the business's objectives, actions and focus.

    Prerequisite experience:

    • RPEQ required;
    • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction or similar;
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience with a structural engineering consultancy and at least 5 in senior level roles;
    • Strong understanding of commercial concepts (e.g. financial and legal);
    • Strong proven leadership capability with managing and leading geographically disperse teams; and
    • Proven capability in turning organisation visions into tangible actions and plans.
