    About the Role

    This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2025

    The Business Automation Analyst supports and drives Process Improvement across the Department of Transport & Planning. The role is a key enabler for the Robotics Process Automation (RPA) strategy owned by the BII function. You will be responsible for certain elements of the RPA assurance and delivery framework and will be a key contributor to the process automation capability within the BII function.

    • Successful delivery of process automation and improvement projects by ensuring that timelines are met, deliverables are achieved, and tangible business benefits are realized in alignment to business objectives.
    • Engage and collaborate with business, IT, and vendor partners to achieve positive project outcomes.
    • Support other RPA projects with specific technical elements required for the execution of automation projects.
    • Identify new and emerging continuous improvement opportunities to improve workflows quantitatively and qualitatively at DTP.
    • Application of innovative practices when developing improvement solutions with business.
    • Coach members from DTP groups on Robotics Process Automation activities and specific requirements for RPA projects.
    • Integration of continuous improvement and change management capabilities used at DTP.
    • Prepare executive reports and presentations for key stakeholders.
    • Effective collaboration, management of multiple stakeholders.

    Key Selection Criteria

    To be successful in the role the ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of continuous improvement methodology (i.e. Lean Six Sigma or similar methodology). As an effective communicator you will also have solid analytical skills and background in project management.

    • Well-developed project management skills and a proven track record in driving projects from initiation to completion.
    • Strong analytical skills and knowledge in business process management practices.
    • Proactive and self-driven with a demonstrated capacity to achieve meaningful goals and undertake competing priorities within a dynamic environment.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills including demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence decisions at a senior management level.
    • Demonstrated ability to initiate and execute continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities where processes and procedures can be improved to expedite business outcomes.
    • Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and succinct reports, plans and papers that achieve their purpose and meet audience needs.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Mandatory

    • Qualification in Project Management including traditional/waterfall and agile methodologies.
    • Exposure to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) projects and technology.
    • 3 years experience in project management activities.
    • Qualification in Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodology e.g. Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
    • Previous experience in internal or external consulting practices.
    • Experience with ITIL software development lifecycle.
