    At Fortescue we are in the process of transforming our energy assets to achieve our climate change targets of zero emissions by 2040. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Supervisor to join an energetic and collaborative team where you will be a key member of the Energy Operations team and have exposure to a diverse range of engineering matters ensuring the sustainability of our operations.

    The Electrical Generation Supervisor role reports directly to the Superintendent Energy Operations and will be responsible for leading a technically disciplined team and demonstrate an ability to deliver against a wide variety of electrical activities which is essential to our teams' success.

    The Solomon Power Station is comprised of 14 x medium speed gas reciprocating gensets from Bergen Engines, 2x GE LM6000PF Gas Turbine Engines and 4x Solar Titan 130 Gas Turbine Engines for a total generation capacity of 281MW and their associated balance of plant.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Safe and effective supervision of an Electrical Maintenance team including the coaching, mentoring and development of all team members
    • Provide visible positive leadership by demonstrating safe behaviours at all times and displaying the Fortescue values
    • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner, weekly plans are adhered to and that daily tasks do not affect the supply of power to the Transmission Network
    • Foster an empowered workgroup, where teamwork and diverse ideas are encouraged allowing achievements to surpass business objectives
    • Review and sign-off Electrical Installations completed by the team as part of the Nominee responsibility process
    • Maintain KPI's and compliance to SAP maintenance strategies, plan work and avoid reactive maintenance
    Qualifications and Experience
    • Proven experience in a leadership role with a passion for coaching and people development alongside a proactive approach and strong commitment to maintaining a safe working culture
    • Australian Recognised Trade Qualification with proven working experience in the power generation industry
    • Experience and an understanding of Supervisor legislative responsibilities and Electrical Statutory requirements
    • Cert IV in Instrumentation with relevant experience
    • Electrical Equipment in Hazardous areas training with experience
    • High Voltage Switching Certificate with experience
    • A current C Class Manual Driver's License
