    Phoenix Underground specialise in Longwall Relocations, Overhauls and the Upgrade / Overhaul of all types of Longwall & Development Equipment in Australia.

    Phoenix was developed in 2017 to support our valued customers to provide technical support in all aspects of Life Cycle Management and provide the option to overhaul / repair Longwall & Development equipment On or Offsite.

    The Role

    We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to join our busy team in Mudgee, NSW. Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager you will be responsible for managing the newly established Mudgee workshop to ensure the successful delivery of workshop projects within key requirements. This will initially be a hands-on role and will then transition to full Supervision as the fabrication team grows.

    Areas of Responsibility

    • Supervise people, service offerings and capabilities consistent with identified customer needs and product technologies.
    • Manage resources to meet utilisation targets and capacity requirements.
    • Collaborate with projects team to satisfy resourcing requirements.
    • Follow scopes of work within time constraints to meet key targets including safety, quality, budget and timeframe.
    • Complete accurate time records, technical reports and failure reports
    • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Stay current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices.
    • Manage cost base in accordance with budget.
    • Hire, coach, motivate, train, evaluate and direct team members to accomplish defined goals and objectives.
    • Ensure proper on-boarding of new personnel in accordance with Company procedures.
    • Comply with safety policies, customer safety policies, applicable government policies, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
    • Identify and report any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and / or near misses.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements for team in area of responsibility.
    • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and Procedures.
