    We have a strong presence in the Sepik region of Papua New Guinea, where our Frieda River project represents a nation-building opportunity for the country.

    Our goal is to create stronger and more viable communities by establishing necessary public infrastructure, generating skilled employment, and creating business opportunities for local people.

    In Laos, we own a 90% interest in Phu Bia Mining Limited, which operates two award-winning mines - Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver.

    The Role

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join our team at the Frieda River project.

    This is a key role that will ensure the continued success and project development of Frieda River's proposed projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the project implementation business unit and relevant field projects to successfully align activities with PanAust's strategic deliverables.
    • Prepare project execution plans, including project organisation, contracting strategy, and resource plans.
    • Oversee the development of detailed project implementation schedules and budgets.
    • Integrate vendors and EPCM contractors from regional and external areas.
    • Develop constructive relationships between internal stakeholders and operational employees.
    • Assist in leading the Frieda River Project through the permitting phase.
    • Ensure the Site Permit database is updated and relevant permits are applied for prior to the project starting.
    • Oversee audits and reviews of the Project Safety and Environmental Management Plan.
    • Project optimisation through alternative implementation and project construction methods.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Mining, or a related field.
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent preferred.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, ideally within the mining or construction industries.
    • Sound understanding of laws and acts within PNG in relation to work programs and projects.
    • Experience in overseeing project development, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Hands-on experience with mine site operations and working in remote or challenging environments.
