    Description

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    You will be accountable for supporting and maintaining network operating systems, servers, and storage platforms to ensure continuous availability, reliability, and stability of Chisholm's Information Technology infrastructure environment. You will closely work with the Information Technology Services (ITS) team in designing, testing, and deploying IT standards and policies to Managed Operating Environments and assets via remote management tools. You will provide a detailed working knowledge of the administration and support of a server environment both on-premises and cloud this will include system installation and configuration, user administration, storage management, backup, disaster recovery and remedial maintenance, application of patches and change logs, security, performance monitoring systems optimisation, capacity planning, and management of system documentation. In addition to assisting with day-to-day second and third-level support and effectively troubleshooting issues, you will leverage your specialist expertise to offer sound advice in your domain. This involves going beyond immediate problem-solving. Your key accountabilities will be to:
  • Actively participate in capacity planning architecture planning and the recommendation of new technologies and equipment
  • Develop and implement technologies that can deliver and maintain core and non-core systems and applications
  • Installation, configuration and administration of the Server and Storage Infrastructure across multiple sites and the Cloud data centre with varied network infrastructure
  • Minimise IT Service Continuity risk to Chisholm by supporting a sustainable and reliable disaster recovery program including back-up, off-site storage and maintaining Disaster Recovery Procedures
  • Provide after-hours scheduled changes when required
  • Develop the capability of Chisholm's Network Infrastructure for supporting staff and students in line with agreed Service Level Standards (SLAs)
  • Train Chisholm staff where required on IT infrastructure products and processes as these are implemented, to ensure the best use of capabilities by the business.
  • ABOUT YOU You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in:
  • Degree and relevant post-graduate qualification in information systems, information technology, computing or similar and experience; or lesser formal qualifications with extensive technical experience
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V4 Foundation certification.
  • Crucial to your success will be your proven track record and experience working in an Azure Infrastructure, multi-tier architectures with load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers and networking implementation and your ability to closely work with IT partners to assist in designing scalable, cost-effective, efficient, and well-communicated solutions that meet the requirements of Chisholm and minimise impacts to Chisholm. You are highly motivated and can develop cloud security practices, and your experience with Office 365 and One Drive administration, Active Directory Federation Search (ADFS), Azure Active Directory and Single sign-on with conditional access controls, Active Directory and Group Policy administration and Windows 2012R2 server or above.
