    The Role

    Provide high-level secretarial and administrative support for the Head of Department (General Medicine).

    Support the day to day running of Department of General Medicine and ensure the efficient flow of information and correspondence relating to activities of the Department of Health (DoH)

    Coordinate and assist in the delivery of a wide range of administrative services within the Department of General Medicine.

    Take responsibility for work assignments and provide operational, administrative and project support coordination as directed by the Head of Department (General Medicine).

    Medical and Cancer Services provide contemporary health care services including general medicine, subspecialty medicine (Gastroenterology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology and Renal), Respiratory, Ambulatory care services and Cardiology to the Tasmanian Community with provision of some state-wide services. Cancer and Blood Services has transitioned to form part of the Medical and Cancer Services Stream.

    Details of Appointment

    Permanent, part time day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

    *notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

    • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

    Salary

    $71,661 - $77,455 pro rata per annum + our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

    You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

    Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

    The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‐employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

    1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    • crimes of violence
    • sex related offences
    • serious drug offences
    • crimes involving dishonesty.
