    Position Overview

    The Anglicare Chaplain is pivotal in enhancing our organisational mission and purpose. The Chaplain provides spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and education concerning Christian faith and mission to our staff, clients, and volunteers. This role is crucial in shaping our spiritual direction and ensuring the integration of our faith across all aspects of our services.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a chaplaincy strategy in consultation with the Interim CEO
  • Oversee and provide Anglican worship and spiritual care across Anglicare's retirement facilities
  • Create and support pastoral care programs for our Early Learning Centres
  • Deliver pastoral care and spiritual guidance to staff, clients, and volunteers
  • Develop educational content on the Christian faith for various organisational training events
  • Represent Anglicare at significant church and community events and networks
  • As requested, provide advice to the CEO, Board and/or Senior Executives on theological, missional and ethical issues relevant to the work of Anglicare

    Qualifications:

  • Formal qualifications in theology or ministry required
  • Tertiary qualifications in education, psychology, social work, community services, or related fields ( desirable)
  • Licenced clergyperson in good standing within the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills, including preaching.
  • Provan ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives
  • Experiences in pastoral care and working with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Conditions:

    The chaplain will be engaged as a stipendiary worker under the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn 2024 Administrative Circular. The position will be classified as a religious practitioner with the associated FBT exemptions.
