    About the Role
    The Adult and Family Alcohol and Other Drug Clinician will provide an accessible, high quality, therapeutic alcohol and other drug service to families and family members who are experiencing impacts because of a family member's substance misuse. The Clinician will deliver, Family Education, one on one Support and Counselling, and Group Based Therapy.

    This position will be based with and form an integral part of the 'Head to Health Centre' working in the Centre in the NEAMI led model of care. The successful applicant will be required to work from 11am – 7pm from Monday to Friday as part of a working team that works across extended hours offering the Barwon community a response through till 10pm at night and weekends.

    The Head to Health Geelong Centre is an exciting new service which provides the Geelong community an alternative service to attend when experiencing mental health crisis. Service delivery will reflect principals of Trauma Informed Care and Recovery Oriented practice. The Head to Health Geelong service will provide a holistic approach to care, addressing a range of social, physical, and emotional needs informed by the Collaborative Relational Practice (CRP) and supported by best practice in evidence-based and evidence informed care.

    The Head to Health Geelong service will have a strong focus on lived experience and will support a high engagement, multi-disciplinary crisis model. This role will be fully integrated into the model of care, seeing the clinician play an integral role in bringing Alcohol and Other Drug treatment and support to the Centre, increasing access to people who access head to health to ongoing Alcohol and Other Drug treatment options and supporting coordinated care.

    $94,077 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

    About You
    A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Nursing, Psychology or related behavioral sciences with applicable registration (e.g., AHPRA registration), and a certificate in Alcohol and Other Drugs or a willingness to undertake.
    Demonstrated experience in using advanced therapeutic skills when working with individuals and families who present with complex issues.
    Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practice of harm minimisation orientated treatment and prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug problems.
    Demonstrated understanding of care planning, case management, crisis intervention and therapeutic approaches to individual and family work.
