    Kelmscott SHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English teacher to join their team.

    The successful applicant will ideally have experience in teaching upper and lower school English and possess strong skills and experience in teaching ATAR English, or the capacity to do so in the future. You should ideally have sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all learners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment will be well regarded, as well as a willingness to engage in professional learning and liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks.

    As the successful applicant, you will actively participate in professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on your classroom practice to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching and ongoing improvement. We are seeking applicants with knowledge and skills to utilise systemic data such as Student Achievement Information System (SAIS), National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) to address individual student learning needs.

    This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
