Description
Hearing Support - Administration Officer

You will be responsible for providing general administrative tasks, registering and data inputting of QCAT applications, photocopying, supporting Tribunal decision makers and parties during Tribunal hearings, and assisting with front counter and telephone enquiries from the public. AO2 positions at QCAT are interchangeable and you may be allocated to different teams to meet business requirements. Hearing Support Officers may be required to travel within South-East Queensland (same day return), and travel to regional Queensland venues overnight and/or up to two to five nights.This continuous applicant pool is open for candidates interested in employment opportunities to fill vacancies due to permanent staff on leave, higher duties or secondment. The positions may range in duration from 4 weeks to 3 months with a possibility of an extension.

• Undertake accurate computer-based processing and data entry using QCAT's file management systems and recording programs.
• Prepare and update documents using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Support Tribunal decision makers in the hearing room including monitoring of recording equipment, coordinating attendance of Tribunal users (including using telephone and video conferencing), and managing exhibits during hearings.
• Effectively and efficiently manage the needs of clients and the general public by using appropriate questioning, problem solving, negotiation and conflict management skills.
• Prioritise tasks in a fast paced and high-volume environment to ensure customer service standards and timeframes are met, and to ensure effective hearing support services are provided.
• Provide accurate information to registry staff and Tribunal members in a professional and friendly manner.
• Provide general administrative tasks as required by Team Leaders and/or Managers to support the delivery of services within QCAT.
