    Acciona Rail has a strong presence throughout Australia supporting and supplying the country's rail infrastructure, we provide construction services for major rail and transport infrastructure projects Australia-wide.

    The Minor Works team are instrumental in looking after maintenance works from upgrading track and bridges to installing concrete walls and modernizing train stations and platforms. As part of the Minor Works team you have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with various scopes this will ensure you become a highly multi-disciplined engineer helping to secure you strong career progression.

    The Opportunity

    The Project Engineer reports to the Construction Manager and assists with the planning, execution and closing of a project. Throughout this period, the Project Engineer provides technical, administrative and (Health &) Safety, Environmental, Quality & Sustainability (HSEQS) support to the Construction Manager (and/or Project Manager) and Supervisors

    Key Accountabilities for the position will be:

    • Prepare a construction budget, communicating this information (including production targets required to meet budget) clearly and concisely to the Supervisor/s
    • Review the drawings and specifications to produce a Completion Report Tracker prior to undertaking the works
    • Obtain permits to work (e.g Services Permit, Working Platform Permit, other external Permits to Work)
    • Prepare "Work Lot" construction documentation for both internal use and client approval, being:
    • Maintain a rolling 2-week program & resource plan with the Supervisor/s
    • Ensure the project delivery team are undertaking a daily pre-start meeting, where job specific task risk assessments are undertaken, culminating with all workers signing on to the pre-start.
    • Complete Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented within agreed timeframes.

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering (or similar)
    • Minimum 4 years of experience as a project-based engineer in the construction engineering industry
    • Experience in disciplines such as rail and associated civil infrastructure
    • Current Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
