About the Opportunity

Senior Mechanical Engineers provide engineering support, guidance, and coordination to resolve technical issues identified during production. They work within the DCE Waterfront Support team to respond to external maintenance period PIRs and other production-related issue reports.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Timely triage, response, and resolution of DCE External Maintenance Period (ExtMP) PIRs and other Production related issue reports.
2. Development and preparation of accurate technical documentation, including test procedures and reports.
3. Assist in development of tools/rigs necessary for integration of the deliverable system.
4. Identify opportunities for improvement of integration practices.
5. Support PIR reporting and performance framework throughout DCE ExtMP Production.
6. Problem Reports are raised for all system problems identified during system integration.
7. Test, integrate, and commission equipment and systems.
8. Oversight and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge for Test & Commissioning.
9. Input to planning and maintenance of schedules.
10. Defect analysis, resolution, and provision of detailed Technical Report.

About You

1. Degree level qualifications in an Engineering discipline and eligibility for admission to the Institution of Engineers, Australia, as a Chartered Professional.
2. Significant experience within a production engineering capacity.
3. Demonstrated professional integrity, advanced level of technical knowledge, objectivity, acceptance of responsibility, maturity of judgement.
4. Demonstrated practical and extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes in a commercial and/or defence environment.
5. Ability to make independent judgements and decisions relating to role with the ability to form & facilitate problem solving teams in order to achieve engineering systems and processes outcomes.
6. Ability to communicate and build relationships with people at all levels.
7. Strong understanding of MRP (Material requirements planning) fundamentals.
8. Eligible to obtain and maintain relevant Defence Clearances.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to the DCE Waterfront Support team. You will work closely with the team to develop and implement solutions to complex technical problems. Your strong technical knowledge and analytical skills will enable you to identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of new technologies.

This role requires a Defence security clearance, and applicants must be Australian citizens or eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances.

The salary range for this position is AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
