    Job Description

    Our Assistant Manager will be responsible for delivering audits on time and on budget, providing technical leadership and supervision to team members as needed. They may also undertake Engagement Leader roles on low-risk audits, Team Leader roles on small high-risk audits, or coordinate small teams for the delivery of audits and projects.

    We offer a salary range of $99,482 - $104,352, commensurate with experience, plus 11.5% superannuation. Flexible working arrangements are available.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Coordinate audit plans in accordance with auditing standards and the Office's methodology. Execute the audit plan for high-risk areas.
    2. Utilise current information technology and computer systems to complete audit work, analyse data, and prepare reports.
    3. Be the primary contact for assigned audits and take responsibility for overall quality.
    4. Supervise team members by providing clear instructions, timely review of work completed, and constructive feedback.
    5. Organise self and team members to deliver work meeting agreed requirements and expectations.
    6. Liaise with client staff to develop professional working relationships.
    7. Effectively resolve technical matters arising during work, escalating issues when necessary.
    8. Contribute to developing reports with compelling narrative, observations, and recommendations supported by evidence and data analysis.
    9. Work towards developing team members' knowledge, skills, and experience to achieve Office outcomes.

    Performance is measured against Key Performance Indicators developed and agreed upon for each role in the Office, documented in annual Performance Plans.

    Pre-employment Checks

    1. Conviction checks in specified categories: Arson and fire setting; Violent crimes; Sex-related offences; Drug and alcohol related offences; Crimes involving dishonesty; Crimes involving deception; Making false declarations; Malicious damage and destruction to property; Serious traffic offences; Crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice; Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power; Crimes involving Conspiracy.
    2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
    3. Identification check.

    Desirable Requirements

    • A tertiary qualification at degree level in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution.
    • Completion of a recognised accounting/auditing certificate program with three years supervised practical experience or five years unsupervised experience in accounting/auditing.
    • Driver's Licence.
