Corporate trust supports clients locally and overseas with a unique offering through five key service offerings: Debt Market Services; Managed Fund Services; Perpetual Asia, headquartered in Singapore; Perpetual Digital, which provides data services and software-as-a-service products; and Laminar Capital, which provides fixed income dealing, treasury and advisory services to government organisations, superannuation funds, local councils, ADIs, not-for-profits, wealth managers and sophisticated investors.

    As the Manager, Governance and Oversight you will be responsible for providing support to the Governance and Oversight business to deliver an effective and best in class Outsourcing Framework which manages the businesses risk exposures.

    About the role

    As a Manager, Governance and Oversight at Perpetual Corporate Trust, you will:

  • Complete regular Service Provider Monitoring reviews across our Investment Managers, Custodians and Administrators to identify the Responsible Entity/Trustee's risk exposures and assess whether the service provider is within Perpetual's Risk Appetite.
  • Assessing the Service Provider's strategies and controls to manage the risk exposure identified through the reviews.
  • Produce benchmarking analysis and reports across service providers.
  • Completion of enhanced testing projects across key risk areas to assess any risks or improvements to service provider systems, processes and controls.
  • Support the operational due diligence on proposed new service providers to be appointed investment management, fund administration or custody roles.
  • Reporting to Management, the Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee and the Board on the risks identified through the Service Provider monitoring measures and actions being taken by the service provider or Responsible Entity /Trustee to manage those risks
  • Incident/breach reporting and oversight on material issues caused by service providers.
  • Continually improving the Outsourced Service Provider Monitoring Program and implementing changes to the Program where benefits and efficiencies can be gained.
  • Develop and maintain good understanding of Perpetual's requirements, risk appetite, managed funds and service providers.
  • Develop and maintain good & effective relationships with service providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Act in accordance with Perpetual's goals & values
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects as required.
  • About you

  • Law/Business/ Accounting/ Economics degree required
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Financial Services, with exposure to managed funds, investment management or third party oversight. Would suit someone in compliance, risk, audit or a product manager role.
  • Have a good understanding of the service providers operations for managed investment schemes and the legal, regulatory and compliance and risk frameworks in place that govern managed investment schemes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
