    Description

    A Transport Agent administers the transactional requirements of shipping finished products from site. The role works with various parts of the Supply Chain team (local and global) and suppliers to ensure that the site has can manage the orderly pick, pack and ship of finished products in line with received orders.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Production Planner to understand and coordinate planned site output and align with orders to be fulfilled.
  • Utilise SAP TM and Elemica systems for transactional activities.
  • Monitor the system queue for pending and active orders to be shipped.
  • Monitor and communicate the plan for packing and shipping to the warehouse staff in order to meet shipping schedules. Including prioritisation of packing activities.
  • Work with the global and local Supply Chain teams to ensure that movement of containers and finished products is coordinated appropriately.
  • Organise the processing of interface tasks, e.g., order processing, master data maintenance, complaint processing, usage decisions.
  • Ensure the creation of the necessary documents and labels for order processing.
  • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders the progress of activities, identify risks and proactively resolve issues.
  • Organise and participate in routine closing activities, such as month-end.
  • Continuously monitor the status of systems to ensure ongoing accuracy and compliance.
  • Organise and manage inventory of finished products, including ageing, off-specification or other finished product inventory.
  • Act as the contact person in the operative day-to-day business for the logistics service provider at the site as well as tracking of KPIs internally and with service providers.
  • Recording and tracking of complaints to the logistics service provider at the site in close cooperation with quality management.
  • Ensure that all activities are undertaken consistent with Chain of Responsibility and, where required, Dangerous Goods requirements.
  • In all activities, act ethically and consistent with Albemarle's Core Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Work Experience/Technical Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • SAP TM experience is preferred.
  • Elemica experience preferred.
  • Intermediate / Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent problem-solving capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work continuously under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience managing shipping container and truck movements in an import/export environment.
  • Some warehouse experience beneficial.
  • Education/Qualification Requirements:

  • Dangerous Goods training preferable.
  • Chain of Responsibility training preferable.
