    Job Description:


    The position forms part of a team of finance professionals, operating within a shared services environment, in the provision of a range of client focused financial management and business services. It works across the Water and Waste Directorate.

      Perform financial system maintenance in accordance with Council's budget guidelines.
    • P rovide specialist advice on compliance with relevant Council business rules, policies and financial processes and assist Cost Centre Managers in areas pertaining to Council's governance cycles for financial matters.
    • The position forms part of a team of finance professionals, operating within a shared services environment, in the provision of a range of client focused financial management and business services. It works across the Water and Waste Directorate.

      Regularly monitor directorate budget and financial performance to ensure a high level of integrity of accounting data within financial systems.
    • Coordinate and prepare journal entries.
    • Assist with collection, coordination, data entry and review in respect to financial and budgetary processes.

    Job Requirements:

    • Proven interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a team, develop and maintain key relationships and collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
    • Attention to detail with excellent analytical skills, including data analysis and information consistency.
    • Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and meet deadlines

    Qualification & Experience:

    • Bachelor of Commerce, Business or Finance, and / or significant relevant knowledge and experience.
    • Experience in preparing information for a variety of audiences.
    • Considerable computer skills and extensive experience in the use of Finance Information systems, SAP, Business Intelligence, Advanced Excel and Word skills.
