    Overview
    The University Department of Rural Health South West (UDRH SW) is a Commonwealth Government funded, nationally networked University Department of Rural Health, with additionally funded vertical programs and key performance indicators set by the Commonwealth Department of Health specifically focused on health workforce. Located in Western Australia's South West region, the UDRH provides rural health multidisciplinary training. Student and health professionals supported under the program include:

    • Nursing and Midwifery
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Exercise Physiology
    • Speech Pathology
    • Social Work
    • Paramedicine
    • Dietetics
    • Physiotherapy
    • Optometry
    • Pharmacy
    • and other allied health professions

    The UDRH SW is looking to employ health professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide placement and education support SW students. These opportunities would be suitable for health professionals who wish to work part time between 1-3 days per week.

    Duties include:

    • Actively develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to grow number of student placements.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry, current practice, and technology in order to effectively facilitate student placements.
    • Contribute to the development of interdisciplinary educational sessions linked to current practices in industry.
    • Have local knowledge of South West health services and have an understanding of health networks including organisations and people within these services.
    • Provide clinical supervision and/or support to students on clinical practice and demonstrate client care within scope of practice whilst supervising students undertaking organised clinical placements.
    • Employees are required to participate in all ECU, team, and individual planning activities; comply with ECU policies and practices in all aspects of their work and conduct; and ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others by complying with OSH and EO requirements.

    Key Criteria
    Successful candidates will:

    • Have a tertiary qualification in a health discipline or equivalent
    • Have a broad base of clinical experience
    • Have knowledge and experience in the facilitation and delivery of student placements
    • Have experience facilitating skills development in others, including an understanding of cultural learning differences and an ability to adapt to different learning needs
    • Current Western Australian drivers' licence

    Benefits & Remuneration
    These opportunities will be paid at $97,113 to $108,813 (HEW 7) pa pro rata, plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
